Who can sign up for the Valley Stream Seniors “Silver Threads” program?

If you are a resident of the Incorporated Village of Valley Stream, or the Valley Stream Central High School District, and of the age of 55 or older you may sign up to become a member. There is no membership fee. Proof of residency and date of birth required.

Can Men sign up for the “Silver Threads”?

Absolutely!  The men can play cards, and participate in any of the other activities that the group may be involved with, including Trips, Games and socializing.

Do I need a parking sticker when “strictly” parking at the Community Center?

Yes. Once you sign up to become a Silver Thread, you will be given a Silver Threads parking sticker strictly for parking at the Community Center during program hours only.  Please keep in mind you will need to apply for a recreational parking sticker in order to park at other Valley Stream facilities.

Is the Community Center Handicap Accessible?

Yes, the Community Center is Handicap friendly.

Do you allow smoking or pets at the Community Center?

Smoking and pets are prohibited.
