2026 SEASONAL (SUMMER) EMPLOYMENT APPLICATIONS

**READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION**

2026 Seasonal Employment Applications will be available for new applicants beginning Friday, March 20^th.

Applications are available at the Village Hall security desk and Recreation Department office in Hendrickson Park (see main pool complex entrance).

Applications may ONLY be returned to Village Hall, attention Human Resources. There is no way to guarantee that any applications returned to any other Village location will be received and therefore, considered for employment.

Please be sure you meet all position requirements (age, certifications, etc.) PRIOR to taking and completing the application.

Applications are being made available but with the stated caution that hiring will be done based on departmental and program need to supplement existing staff for the summer season.

ALL APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THEIR APPLICATION STATUS VIA EMAIL. PLEASE ENSURE ALL CONTACT INFORMATION IS COMPLETE AND LEGIBLE. PLEASE CHECK JUNK FOLDERS WHILE AWAITING UPDATES.

ONLY THE SEASONAL-SPECIFIC, COLOR-CODED APPLICATIONS LISTED BELOW ARE CONSIDERED FOR SUMMER POSITIONS. APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ORIGINAL PAPER FORM AND MAY NOT BE DISTRIBUTED OR SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY.

The PDF application provided below on the Village website is for part-time and full-time Village employment ONLY. These applications will NOT be considered for seasonal positions.

SEASONAL RECREATION ATTENDANT – GENERAL RECREATION POSITION / GOLD APPLICATION:

Positions at all Village of Valley Stream Recreation Department locations
Hiring for all Recreation Attendant positions generally begins at age 16; those interested in Village opportunities at age 15 are encouraged to complete a Barrett Summer Recreation Program Volunteer application

SEASONAL RECREATION ATTENDANT – BARRETT RECREATION PROGRAM POSITION / BRIGHT GREEN APPLICATION:

Positions at the Barrett Recreation Program for children; see application cover letter for program dates and additional information
Hiring for all Recreation Attendant positions generally begins at age 16; those interested in Village opportunities at age 15 are encouraged to complete a Barrett Summer Recreation Program Volunteer application

SEASONAL LABORER / ORANGE APPLICATION:

Positions with the Parks Department and Department of Public Works
Due to the equipment used and nature of the position, applicants MUST be 18 years old and above to be considered

LIFEGUARD & LIFEGUARD TRAINEE / PURPLE APPLICATION:

Hiring for Lifeguard positions begins at age15 with all necessary certifications
Applicants MUST hold a current lifeguard certification from the Nassau County Department of Parks or be in the process of becoming certified and hold a current CPR certification to be considered
Lifeguard applications that do not have attached certifications or that do not state the candidate’s specific plans for certification will not be considered for employment

SEASONAL CLEANER / GREY APPLICATION:

Facility cleaning and general maintenance positions with the Pool Maintenance Department at the Hendrickson Park/Pool Complex including cleaning/maintenance of restrooms and changing room facilities
Hiring for all paid positions within the Pool Maintenance Department begins at age 16

BARRETT PARK SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM VOLUNTEER / CREAM APPLICATION:

Volunteer positions at the Barrett Park Summer Recreation Program for applicants age 15 ONLY
Applicants MUST be 15 years old as of July 1, 2026 to be considered
Anyone interested age 16 and above may complete a bright green Barrett Seasonal Recreation Attendant Application to apply for a paid position
